New Orşova, with the houses situated in the amphitheatre in the Cerna Gulf on the Danube is the gateway to the “Banat Arcadia”, as we can call the Danube Gorge from the Cauldrons to the Babacaia Rock.
Orşova is the place where the trip to the Danube Cauldrons starts, either on the road, winding along the limestone mountain or on the water by boat. Everything is fascinating, from the most modern building in the city, namely the Roman Catholic Cathedral, to the dives that will be proposed to be done at the Iron Gates for the purpose of seeing the sunken island of Ada-Kaleh.
